I’ve been on CPAP for 4 years now. I’ve always tethered my hose to a desktop lamp using a stretchy headband and I thought that was fine. But I finally broke down and bought the “CPAP Hose Lift System” and I have to say that it is great! Very lightweight, unobtrusive and best of all I can toss and turn all night without any tugging of the hose on my mask. I wish I would have gotten this several years ago.

Tracy from “Talk About Sleep

It works! Plain and Simple and CHEAP.
VERY REASONABLY PRICED between $25-$30
unlike other brands at $60-$80.
It took me 30 seconds to assemble, and I am easily confused!
It rotates easily, so swing toward headboard which keeps excess tubing further out of the way. Reduces tubing pull on mask which can cause mask leak and discomfort. No more fighting with your tubing in the middle of the night.
Helps reduce “rain out” effect with humidification use, as it keeps tubing in vertical position so no/less excess condensation dripping back in to your mask.
A ground spike is available by special order for campers!
Top loop that suspends hose accommodates well for even the bulkiest tubing cover you may use – UNLIKE some other brands with narrow clips that won’t work with ANY tubing cover.
Comes with bag to carry for travel – the whole system folds down flat to approx 5″ X 7″.
I love it when products WORK and are AFFORDABLE

This is a very light weight, very portable solution to rolling over on my hose–a very uncomfortable
activity. It is worth the money.

I had the best night’s sleep since starting therapy 3 months ago! Although the product is very lightweight, it is sturdy enough to deal with a “thrasher” like me. I continually toss side-to-side throughout the night; before the CPAP Hose Lift System, I would wake up briefly to drag my hose along the headboard each time I turned. Now I can sleep through the night! This is a great low cost solution, and should be strongly recommended to every CPAP user.

I love this hose lift. It has made such a difference to my nights. It is so beautifully made and such a clever little device that packs really neatly into my machine carry bag. I can’t get over how such an ingenious little thing can improve one’s quality of life so much! It holds the hose away from your body and makes the whole thing more bearable. It allows more freedom of movement and has meant that my mask doesn’t pull on my face any more. I am so impressed with this gadget that I have one attached to my bed at home now which will stay there and I have bought another to take away with me. The inventor should be given a prize. I have never seen these anywhere else so I also have to thank Hope2Sleep for finding it.
Brilliant!

So tired of sleeping with a cold hard hose in my bed; sometimes waking up to find it wrapped around body or throat. I was unsure how it would work having the hose hanging in the air -It’s WONDERFUL! It actually helps relieve some pressure off of the mask, relieving my nose of this burden. I can toss and turn all night and not roll over onto a cold hard hose or have it wrap my body. It also seems to help improve the overall fit of my mask (A ladies Swift Light w/nasal pillows). I have only had the lift for two nights and am so very glad I found it and spent the money on it. Worth every penny spent!

November 30, 2009 – Great Product

I wish I would have bought this product sooner. It makes sleeping with the hose so much more omfortable! And it is light and easy to set up. I’ve taken it traveling with me, and it took up almost no space, and it felt just like home.

November 28, 2009 – Sleep Enhancer

(5 out of 5) by Billy B, Boise, ID

This product works really well. It is easy to use and keeps the hose tangle free which greatly enhances my sleep quality. I have only been using the product for a week, but am amazed at the difference it makes. My wife tried it and I have now ordered on for her. The unit seems like it will travel well also.

I purchased the travel hose lift system as it was the cheapest. After using this for a few days I find that my choice was indeed the right one.

It can be used on a regular basis at home (just not travel). Is not cumbersome plus it works with a 6 foot hose as I thought I may need the 8 foot.

Good value, good product!

November 03, 2009 – Great for Travel

(4 out of 5) by Mike P, Midland, TX

Great product for travel and priced right. Just wish it had a heavier base so it would sit on the night stand instead of needing to be placed under the mattress. It could be a little longer or taller depending on the way you’re looking at it.

Excellent product. Helped reduce leaks using a Hybrid mask. Keeps hose from dragging on the bed
contributing to the mask leaks.

Thought this would be a little bigger. We also realized once we had put it up that it is not made for the new deeper mattresses with a pillowtop. It does keep the hose up off the floor so there is no rainout from the humidifier.

What a great idea.
Makes using the CPAP machine more comfortable and keeps the hose out of the way even when you turn over.

October 17, 2009 – Makes it seem as if the hose doesn’t exist

(5 out of 5) by Tony Brentwood

I used to hate having the hose draped across the sheets, I always seemed to be catching it and it always seemed to be pulling the mask away from my face. The hose lift certainly changed that, now I hardly know the hose is there, as it’s way above my head out of the way. Also reduces the possibility of ‘rainout’ with humidifier use. The design is brilliant, it doesn’t look at all ‘medical’ and it can be swung out of the way when not in use, or dismantled in about five seconds. The base slips under the mattress, and the pipe holder is elasticated to give some flexibility if the hose is pulled in sleep. If you’ve not got a hose lift then I would strongly advise you to get one, the cost is minimal but the benefits are priceless! Definitely the best accessory I have to smooth my CPAP use.

October 05 2009 – Very Good Product

(4 out of 5) by Pat D, IL

I waited to review this item until I had traveled with it. It was quick and easy for me to remove it from the hotel bed each day so there’d be no problem for the housekeeping staff in changing the bed sheets.
It’s light, compact, easy to use, and does the job. I’d give it 5 stars except that the two pieces don’t fit together as tightly as I’d like, but that’s a pretty minor deficiency.

(5 out of 5) by James K, IN

With my Hybrid mask, the hose always seemed to twist around and sit where the holes in the mask release excess airflow, causing a lot more noise than necessary. This lift system has helped out a lot to manage where the hose goes.
For best results, put it lower than neck-level, so that your hose goes down.

September 21, 2009 – Very Handy

Once I figured out exactly where to place this hose support everything was great. It took a little experimentation, like everything else as a CPAP newbie requires that too, it seems.

September 16, 2009 – hose lifter-travel one

(4 out of 5) by Pat B, Davenport, IA

I love the hose lifter. I wish I had know about it 4 years earlier when I started using a cpap. No local providers seem to know about it or carry them. I found it on line and took a chance in buying it. I no longer have the tube wrapped around my head and neck at night and I’m sleeping much better. I think getting use to the machine kept me awake as much as the sleep apnea. I would definitely recommend this item to all cpap users and the price is right.

September 11, 2009 – Great product!

(5 out of 5) by Paul L, Ravensdale, WA

The “CPAP hose lift system” is a fantastic improvement to the overall CPAP therapy experience. This is the first hose management device I have tried, and I can’t stress enough how this should be part of every persons basic CPCP therapy package. This particular product is very well designed, incredibly light weight and portable and should last for many years. Breaks down into a very small package that fits in the CPAP machine bag. Built from strong aluminum tubing with solid ends like tent poles, with a bungee chord holding the pieces together, the design is simple yet extremely functional. I found the height to be perfect and I have a thick mattress. At this price, you can’t go wrong. I used to wake 3-4 times a night with the hose pulling on my mask, air leaks etc, no more! I don’t even know I am tethered to a hose now when I sleep!
The only improvement I would recommend is to have a way to have the elastic support loop adjustable (tighter) so the hose didn’t slide down, increasing the slack at night. I remedied this by using fleece insulation over the hose and passing through the loop which kept the hose slack length fixed at night.

September 09, 2009 – Great, especially at this price

Love this little hose lifter! It’s lightweight and easy to use, especially for travel. I have the much heavier (and more expensive) “travel” version of the competing product, and I like this one better. In particular, the “spring loop” works better for hose management than the velcro straps on the other model.

This is an elegantly designed product. The way the parts snap together is ingenious and foolproof, much easier than the plastic product I was using from another vendor, but BE WARNED: because it’s metal it is likely to set off airport TSA screening alarms. This happened to me in Denver airport. After inspecting it and hearing my explanation the TSA official let me take it onboard, but that is up to the discretion of the TSA screener. To me this defeats the purpose of a product obviously designed for travel. At a minimum, leave yourself extra time to get through security, and be prepared for the possibility that you may have to leave it behind. The same caution would apply to any such product made of metal tubes.

I decided to try the lift system to position the hose above and behind my head. This product works well, but I am concerned about its long-term survival. The way it goes together and comes apart will make it easy to take with me when I travel. I didn’t expect it to come with a travel storage bag, a nice bonus feature.

May 30, 2009 – Simple & Compact but Effective

(5 out of 5) by Howard

This is easily transportable and it works. Me thinks that all of these hose systems should have a stretchy cord (as does the “Hose Lift”) as the final supporter of the hose above your face. This really relieves tension on the hose when turning in bed. I could come up with some other features that would make this product even better, so maybe 4.5 stars is more accurate. But I would buy this again in a heart beat as I am certain it has improved my sleep.

It’s more comfortable having the hose out of the way, and this was easy to fit under the mattress – I was worried I’d have to move the bed away from the wall but didn’t need to. height works fine for me but does not appear to be adjustable.

April 27, 2009 – Works Great For Me – 1 Issue

(4 out of 5) by John L, Woodstock, ON

This is what I was looking for – an affordable alternative to the hose keeping me awake. I used to toss, turn, straighten, fix, when I should have been sleeping. The only issue I had was the aluminum frame pinging agains my headboard as I have an iron frame bed… I fixed it easily though by wrapping the lift system in tennis racket grip foam. It looks great and does the trick well.
As for dealing with CPAP.COM for my order, it was great service and quick delivery. Now if someone could invent a comfortable chin strap and mask.
Thank you.

This simple apparatus is marvelous! I no longer have to keep waking up to “retrieve” my cpap hose from trying to follow gravity to fall off my face onto the floor. This “holder” swings in any direction and keeps the weight of my hose suspended for easy turning in bed. I love it!

March 27, 2009 – The hose lift works!

(4 out of 5) by Mehanaokala A, Hilo, HI

I have been using the CPAP Hose Lift for 3 weeks and I sleep better now than I have in years. I was waking up several times a night to adjust the hose when it would get stuck between mattress and headboard, or under pillow, or under arm, etc. Now I sleep right through the night. I was going to buy the more expensive one, but decided to save some money and buy this one. I’m glad I did. The other one appears as if it might be a little more sturdy, but I have no problems with this one. I knocked a star off because it does not have a hook to hang the mask on like the more expensive one. I liked that feature because it would keep my mask up away from my 14 mo old.

I can’t believe I waited so long to buy this!! I thought it was a great idea, but kept putting it off, but finally I ordered it and I can’t believe how great it is. I slept so much better, without fighting the hose all night, and it was a bargain (much less than similar products). I would recommend to anyone!

I bought the Hose Lift System with the hope that it would keep the hose at bay. I am a side sleeper and turn from side to side several times each night. Every time I turned, I had to change the position of the hose or risk serious leaks in my Hybrid mask. When I received the System, I was quite surprised by its size and manageability. I easily assembled it and installed it under the mattress and inserted the 8 foot hose. I found that the hose was much too long and reverted back to the 6 footer.
The Hose Lift System was a real godsend. It manages the hose as if it were a real person standing by the bed all night making sure that the hose doesn’t interfere with my sleep whenever I turn in bed. I was so delighted with the performance and price of the System, that I ordered another one to have as a spare. I most highly recommend this system to all side sleepers
who turn frequently and you can’t beat the price.”

Was looking for a lift system to travel with and decided to give this one a try. It is light, quick and easy to assemble, and I use it a home as well. It folds down very small fits in its travel pouch and fits easily into my ResMed carrying case. I bought eight foot tubing, but found I can use my 6 foot tubing. I recommend this lift system, works great!!.

February 17, 2009 – Rewarding Addition

(5 out of 5) by Timothy B, WI

I’ve flopped around like a beached fish struggling with the hose for 8 years. I selected this unit because it appeared very portable AND inexpensive. I figured I couldn’t lose if it did not work. You won’t lose if you choose to try it- Portable like small tent polls with elastic connections, aluminum for strength and lightness in construction.
I’ve used it for 5 nights now, and alas , I change position now, without hanging myself with the cord. You might find another selection thta costs more, but I believe this will be great whether traveling or at home. I’m NOT taking it down every day, so I believe the tent pole like elastic pole connectors will last longer.

Satisfied Customer

I use a Nippy ventilator, and have always had problems with the long hose which slips down during use, and gets pulled off its connection to the ventilator. This would frequently lead to disturbed nights.

Recently, I bought the Hose-Lift, and am delighted with it. First of all, I found the setting-up extremely easy. It takes just a couple of minutes, and requires no DIY skills or tools. The whole assembly is easy to set up and dismantle, very lightweight, and comes with its own bag. This could be easily popped into your luggage when traveling.

The Hose Lift holds the hose up, and prevents it falling down or pulling on the connections. My Nippy has an exhalation vent in the tubing, but the Hose-Lift holds this up above my head so that it doesn’t blow onto me.

Like many others, I have always had problems with air leakage from the top of mask; the weight of the hose would drag the mask downwards, letting air escape at the top. With Hose Lift, there is no tension on the hose, so this is no longer a problem.

Other advantages I have found are that the mask now leaves fewer pressure marks on my face, and I no longer get tangled with the hose during sleep.

Con – After some experimentation, I have realized that it is important to insert the hose from behind the mast assembly, before threading through the loop at the top. If not, the whole thing may swing forward during sleep and you could get entangled. This is not clear from the instructions supplied, although the website photo does show this very well.

I have already recommended this item to all my friends who use ventilators or CPAPs.

Inventor’s Note

Mrs. Whiting’s con point is:  Install the hose through the loop so as to be between the Hose Lift mast and the wall, at the head of the bed.  This orientation places the weight of the hose pulling on the mast towards the wall, and not toward the foot of the bed.  The new Hose Lift includes a graphic Instruction Card that indicates this, And another nifty feature: a counterclockwise twist introduced into the hose during first assembly, the whole unit with mask hanging on it’s Hook (also a new feature now included) – will swivel magically out of the way! - Edward Baxter

Good item for the price

“I wasn’t sure if a hose management system would be of any help to me, but decided to take a chance on this one, due to the reasonable price, compared with the other, more substantial one advertised on this site. It’s small enough to travel with, lightweight, reasonable attractive, and functional. I like the way it connects with the internal bungee, and it seems to do an adequate job of hose management. Although I may purchase the heavier-grade unit at a later date, I like this one for what it provides.” – Daniel
